Thank you very much Jethro for the contribution. The concept paper was the starting point of our project. In the month of October, writing the concept paper was abit challenging but thank God the group was able to accomplish it.
Basing on the interaction we had with our supervisor we were told to continue on the next phase which was the proposal writing that was on 5th November,2014
Our supervisor was supportive and very welcoming. He guided us and gave us more brilliant ideas to add on. He gave us a go ahead which lead us to the next phase.
On 20th November 2014 we visited C&G Andijes Group Limited to collect requirements. This was contacted by interviewing the staff at the company and was successfully done.
This was a very exciting stage of the project since C&G Andijes Group Limited is located in Port Bell, Uganda and it was a new place for some of the group members like me. Requirements collection was a success and very beneficial to the project.
During the proposal writing i contributed mostly on,Literature Review,Relevance of the project,flow of the Enterprise Data Tracking System,Android Application Development plateforms
In December, 2014 we started working on the requirements specification document and i contributed on the following modules.
The hardware requirements need for the project. Appearance of the Authenticated User Logins on the systems and app.
Location Based Works Entry: how the works performed in the various sites of the construction company are going to be managed.
Calling of Web Service : After submitting the details from the mobile device,how data passed to a Web service. Works Photo Upload, how site supervisor upload the images of latest works carried out at the site to be viewed by the administrative users.
MIS Reports to Monitor the Work Status how the data regarding the works and its expenditure received from various work sites are reflected on the Web Application. High-Level Technology Architecture the overall structure of the software and the ways in which that structure provides conceptual integrity for a system.
in Chaper two which was SYSTEM SPECIFICATION i contributed on the VERSION REQUIREMENTS AND VERSION CONTROL analysis, version management analysis where i gave an example of jethro and reagan working on two different components at the same time.
After version management we went a head and discussed on the inputs of our system where i had to contribute on the following inputs,
input 1: which was explaining on the The IT Specialist registers the users and gives various users accounts which involved registration and Logging in involves inputting username and password
Input 2: material requisition input form and the fields that can be used in that form.
Input 3: operation cost input form and the fields involved in that form.
Input 7 a time sheet form the inputs that a foreman has to input while working with his field workers.
input 10: working on deliver note which fields are entered there and who is the main key actor in that section.
In the next section of the functional requirements analysis i contributed on
Functional requirement 1.3 user registration where by i suggested which fields the user should input when registering.
Functional requirement 1.7 where i analysed the add appointment module in terms of the functionality of the system.
Functional requirement 3.1 material report. This requirement is functional because the foreman has to generate a material report on the materials used and materials that remain after the implementation of a particular project is complete.
Functional requirement 3.3 concerning on operational costs involved: manager has logged in to the application, the project manager should be able to generate the operational cost for the project. that is a functional requirement too.
Functional requirement 4.1 attendance lists of workers as a functional requirement of the system.
Functional requirement 4.3 taking photos module by the field supervisors on the various field activities involved in a certain particular project implementation and forwards them to the directing manager to view the field activities.
Functional requirement 5.2 The load instruction module where i explained how instructions from the directing manager(CEO) and project manager are handled by the procurement officer so as to settle the request sent by the project manager i suggested this to be a functional requirement to of the system.
On LIMITATIONS AND SAFETY i contributed on the Connectivity: Connectivity is often slow and unreliable on tablet devices. This will impact the performance of tablet applications that utilize these features. Different Display Resolution: The resolution of tablet devices is reduced from that of desktop computers resulting in lower quality images.
This are the main two points that i researched and included in the report document.
On the month of October when we were working on the concept paper i contributed mostly on the Specific Objectives, Scope,Significance,main objective.
